Jane Porter
Born in Visalia, California, Jane is a small town girl at heart and though she's traveled the globe, she's still in love with central California with its golden foothills, oak trees, and the miles of farmland, rich with the sweet and heady fragrance of orange blossoms.
Jane spent a lot of her childhood dreaming of far off places, fearless knights, princesses and happy-ever-after endings and her parents fed her imagination by taking the family on a trip to Europe for a year when she was thirteen. That incredible year in Europe changed her life and overseas she discovered a huge and wonderful world with different cultures and customs. Jane spent much of her high school and college years abroad, studying in places like South Africa, Japan and Ireland. She loved everything about Europe as well, but felt especially passionate about Italy and those gorgeous Italian men. It's no surprise that her first Harlequin Presents, THE ITALIAN GROOM, featured an Italian alpha-hero!
With her Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in American Studies, a program that combines American literature and American history, Jane has worked in sales and marketing. She also went on to earn her Masters in Writing from the University of San Francisco and taught jr. high and high school English. Jane’s July 2006 release, FLIRTING WITH FORTY (Warner 5 Spot) was picked by Redbook Magazine as its Red Hot Summer Read for 2006, went back for seven printings in six weeks, and has been optioned by Sony Pictures for a Lifetime TV movie! Her next novel from Warner, ODD MOM OUT, is scheduled for release in September 2007 and Jane’s already working on the sequel to this story, ALPHA MOM.
Jane now divides her time between Honolulu and Bellevue, Washington, where she's raising her two young sons.
